Overview of Construction and Materials

Ecosa Construction and the Materials

This product is made of three different types of foam layers totaling to 25 cm in height. Using the most advanced technologies, the materials have been crafted to achieve the highest levels of comfort. The layers are not permanently fused to each other in a specific orientation; rather, you are at liberty of deciding which layer will be at the top. It’s wrapped in a specialized protective cover, as such, I rate it 9.2 for material and quality.

The Cover: It’s made of three separate specialized materials. The outer cover is made from high quality double-knit polyester giving it the stretchy properties. It enhances breathability as it is thin and light, yet very strong and durable. It’s easily removable for cleaning. The inner cover layer is water resistance to keep out moisture and dust mites. It’s made from micro-filament fibers for enhancing breathability and the waterproof properties. The self-extinguishing and fire resistance fiber fabric woven from silica has no added chemical retardants. It melts when it catches fire, muffling the bed and keeping it away from oxygen thus suffocating the flames.

The Comfort Layer: Made from premium natural latex. Latex is hypoallergenic and a natural dust mite resistant material, making it perfect to be used as a sleeping surface. It’s very bouncy and comfortable making it a good support pad. It rates medium on the firmness scale and contours nicely to the body shape for perfect pressure relief and pain alleviation. Breathability is enhanced by the numerous aerations that allowing maximum air moment.

The G-7 Memory Foam Layer: It’s infused with a special gel to enhance the thermoregulation qualities of the bed. This new technology solves the challenge of heating up during sleep. The gel infusion is great at dissipating heat away from your body to allow you get some cool sleep. Despite keeping heat spots at bay, this layer is perfect for the contour effect and allows a good degree of sinking for a perfect medium firm surface.

The Firm Supportive Foam: Offers a good support base for all the body pressure points. The chocolate shape grooves are running across and along its surface enhance breathability for efficient cooling. This thick foam is good at absorbing movement that can be transferred to the sleeping partner. It gives Ecosa its shape and ensures that the structure is durable.

Our Valuation on Firmness

Medium – Is 5/10 on our firmness scale.

Medium Firm – Is 6.5/10 on our firmness scale.

Firm – Is 7.5/10 on our firmness scale.

Ecosa has three different settings for the firmness level. The three layers of foam having different firmness levels are interchangeable to achieve this property. So this product offers medium, medium-firm, and firm settings in one package. The medium firmness is achieved by the memory foam and rates 5/10. The medium-firm level is obtained from the latex layer and the firmness rates 6.5/10. The firm level is achieved from the thick support foam and rates 7.5/10 for firmness level. For support and comfort rating, I give this product a score of 9.3.

Reviewing the motion transfer: Ecosa is all-foam, therefore, with very little motion transfer. Thanks to the latex and memory foams, there is absolutely no disturbance when a sleeping partner gets in and out of bed or rolling about in sleep. I rate Ecosa 9 for motion transfer.

How is the Cooling

Airflow and Cooling Reviewed

The cooling features packed into this product are effective at maintaining a stable temperature while you are asleep. At least every part of this great mattress enhances the cooling features. The cover is thin and breathable for maximum interaction with the cooling layers below as it’s good moisture absorbing material and keeps your body temperature steady throughout the night. Perforations on the latex and the gel infusion enhance heat transfer. The thick support foam offers a big surface area to dissipate heat and enhances air flow. I rate this product 8.7 for the cooling effect.

Edge Support

How the Support Feels

Traditionally, foam mattresses underperform on edge support. With a rating of 8.7, I found the edge support quite notable for a product of this category. I tested a couple of sleeping positions on the edge, and I received good support along the border, sufficient for a comfortable sleep. Though there was a good amount of sinking, the dense support foam countered the compression giving firm support. Sitting at the edge is comfortable, and you will receive good support to accomplish tasks like reading and dressing.
